A reader asked for the months in Cyrillic - and that question deserved a whole resource post

When a reader wrote in to ask for the Serbian month names in the Cyrillic script, it was a good reminder that a lot of the vocabulary material on this blog is scattered across separate posts - useful, but not always easy to find in one go. So this post brings the links together: vocabulary pages, phrase lists, pronunciation guides, and the Cyrillic versions of the material used in online lessons, all in one place. Think of it as a front door to the everyday-words corner of the blog.

What is this page for?

The goal is simple: to collect and cross-link the Serbian vocabulary and phrase material - including the presentation slides used in online teaching - so that everything is reachable from one spot. Where a pronunciation recording or a Cyrillic version of a lesson exists, the link points straight to it, so you can drill the written form and the sound at the same time.

April - a small taste of the months material

Month names come up early in any Serbian course because you need them for dates, seasons, and small-talk. Here is just a glimpse of how the material is presented:

ps. април = april

Each month is taught with its pronunciation and its Cyrillic spelling so that you can recognise it whether you encounter it in a newspaper headline or in a text message. The full list - all twelve months, with audio where available - lives in the vocabulary pages; follow the link at the bottom of this post to find them.

Where to find the vocabulary pages

The full vocabulary and phrases material lives alongside the courses on the teaching site. Each post in the series links to the matching pronunciation guide or Cyrillic version, so you always have a way to hear what you are reading. The pages are added gradually as lessons are prepared, so check back regularly - new material appears with each new teaching unit.

A handy sign-off

The original version of this post closed with a small reminder that is worth repeating here: pozz = pozdrav - a cheery shorthand that Serbian speakers use constantly in text messages, emails, and online comments. You will see it everywhere once you know what it means, and it is a nice little window into how the language relaxes when it goes digital.

FAQ

Are the months in Cyrillic available?
Yes - the month names in Cyrillic script are part of the vocabulary material. Each month is presented with both the Latin and Cyrillic spelling, plus pronunciation notes, so you can learn to read and recognise them in both scripts.
Where do I find more vocabulary pages?
All the vocabulary posts are gathered in the Serbian Vocabulary category on the blog. The link at the bottom of this post takes you straight there. New pages are added as each teaching unit is published, so it is worth bookmarking the category page and coming back to it.
What does "pozz" mean?
Pozz is a friendly abbreviation of pozdrav, which means "greetings" or, more loosely, "cheers" or "hi/bye." You will find it at the end of emails and messages the way an English speaker might write "cheers" or "ttyl." It is informal but warm, and very Serbian.

I hope this page saves you a little time the next time you are hunting for a word or a script guide. Vocabulary is the building block everything else rests on, so it is worth taking the time to find the right resources and keep them close. Pozz - and keep going!
