January is a wonderful time to make a fresh start with Serbian, and I have exciting news: a new round of the online Serbian course is coming in February. Whether you have been waiting to join for a while or you are returning after a break, this is your moment to dive back in and take your Serbian to the next level. I am genuinely thrilled to be putting together new materials, and I cannot wait to share them with you.

This post covers everything you need to know about the upcoming session of Serbian 102 - what it includes, when it starts, and what is new this time around. Read on and then let me know in the comments if you have any questions!

What is this about?

Serbian 102 is the second course in the online Serbian series. It picks up where Serbian 101 leaves off and takes you further into grammar, vocabulary, and real-life conversation. The new session starts in February and runs for approximately two months, giving you a manageable, steady pace that fits around a busy life.

The course is designed to be flexible: you work through the materials at your own pace, but there is also a community component so you do not feel like you are studying alone. If you have already completed Serbian 101, or if you have some prior knowledge of Serbian, this is exactly the right next step.

What do you get?

Here is a summary of what is included when you enrol:

The combination of video, audio, and text means that you can choose the format that works best for your learning style - or use all three together for maximum retention.

What is new?

New materials are being added to the course all the time, and this session is no exception. One of the most exciting additions is the "Horoscope Serbian" series - a set of thematic lessons built around horoscope texts, which turn out to be a surprisingly rich source of natural, everyday Serbian.

The Horoscope Serbian series teaches you to talk about yourself, your personality, and your future using a fun and memorable context. Horoscope language is full of adjectives, future-tense constructions, and reflective vocabulary - exactly the kind of material that helps you move from "textbook Serbian" to Serbian you can actually use in conversation.

More Serbian examples

Let us look at some sentences that capture the spirit of what you will be practising in Serbian 102. Say each one out loud and focus on the pronunciation:

Serbian (Latin) English
Kurs počinje u februaru. The course starts in February.
Možeš da preuzmeš materijale. You can download the materials.
Učimo zajedno na forumu. We learn together on the forum.
Kada počinje sledeća lekcija? When does the next lesson start?
Mogu da pogledam video svaki dan. I can watch the video every day.
Pitaj na forumu ako ne razumeš. Ask on the forum if you do not understand.
Srpski je lep jezik. Serbian is a beautiful language.
Kurs traje oko dva meseca. The course lasts about two months.
Preuzimam PDF fajlove za vežbanje. I am downloading the PDF files for practice.
Svi polaznici su dobrodošli! All participants are welcome!

Notice how možeš da + present tense is a very natural way to express "you can" in Serbian. You will use this construction constantly in everyday conversation, so it is worth drilling until it feels automatic.

A warm note

I know that starting or continuing a language course takes courage and commitment, especially when life is busy - and that means a great deal to me. Whether you are joining for the first time or returning after a break, please know that every small step you take in Serbian is meaningful and worth celebrating.

The forum is a kind and supportive space, and I personally read every question that comes in. You are never alone in this journey, and the small community that gathers around each course session always turns out to be one of the most valuable parts of the whole experience. I look forward to learning alongside you in February.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to have completed Serbian 101 first?

Serbian 101 is the ideal preparation, but if you have studied Serbian elsewhere and feel comfortable with basic greetings, simple present-tense sentences, and the alphabet, you should be fine joining 102 directly. If you are unsure, send a message and we will work it out together.

What if I fall behind during the two months?

Because all materials are available at any time and you can download everything, there is no pressure to keep to a strict daily schedule. The two-month window simply gives you a framework; you set your own pace within it.

Are the lessons in Latin script or Cyrillic?

Materials are provided in both scripts wherever possible, and lessons explicitly address both. You will not be left behind if you are still working on Cyrillic.

What makes the Horoscope Serbian series special?

Horoscope texts use a rich mix of adjectives, future-tense constructions, and vocabulary about personality and daily life - all of which are directly useful for real conversation. The context is fun and easy to remember, which helps new vocabulary stick.

Will there be new Horoscope Serbian content each month?

Yes - new horoscope-based lessons are added regularly, and the plan for this session includes material for multiple signs so that everyone finds something personally relevant.

I am so happy you are here and thinking about taking the next step with Serbian. February will be here before you know it, and I hope to see your name on the forum soon. Until then, keep practising those sentences above and remember: napredak je napredak - progress is progress, no matter how small.
